Today’s rain has caused serious flooding in Burlington.
Early this afternoon, Environment Canada issued a Flood Outlook, later upgrading it to a Flood Watch – warning that as much as 60 mm of rain was possible.

Just after 1 p.m., floods occurred near Brant and Tyandaga. Flooding was also reported in the area of New Street, east of Appleby.
Fairview Street, between Appleby and Walkers, was flooded with muddy water as well.

The Leon’s furniture store on North Service is closed due to flooding inside the store.

Halton police are warning drivers that multiple roads and intersections in Burlington are flooded, and stormwater systems are overwhelmed due to rain.
BurlingtonHydro added the flooding, and fallen tree limbs, caused a number of outages across town. Approximately 350 customers in the Pinedale neighbourhood are impacted by an outage caused by a fallen tree branch.
Following the storm earlier today, there are a number of outages in the City. Crews are investigating the cause of each. The ETRs are not known at this time. More information to follow.

Crews are currently working to restore power.
