FORT SEVERN, Ont. — Police in a northern Ontario First Nation say a person who jumped onto a polar bear that lunged at his spouse early this morning has been significantly injured however is predicted to get well.
The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service says a pair stepped out of their house in Fort Severn First Nation earlier than 5 a.m. to verify on their canine solely to return throughout a polar bear of their driveway.
Police say the bear lunged on the woman, who slipped on the bottom.
They are saying her husband jumped onto the bear to stop it from mauling her, and the bear then attacked the person, leaving him with critical accidents to his legs and arms.
Police say a neighbour arrived and shot the bear a number of instances. The bear took off and died in a close-by wooded space.
Police say the injured man has been taken to the group nursing station for remedy, whereas officers patrolled the world to verify there have been no different bears round.
