Three Ontario residents face charges over what Halton Regional Police Service known as “a pair of suspicious fires” in Burlington, Ont., late final 12 months.

On Dec. 2, police mentioned they responded to a fireplace that triggered minor harm to a Lodi Street residence close to Dundas Road and Walkers Line. 

Two days later, police had been again on the identical residence as one other hearth destroyed three unoccupied houses and broken others. They mentioned the fires triggered about $1.7 million in harm.

In a Friday information launch, police mentioned they charged a 34-year-old Ajax resident, and a 40-year-old Courtice resident with arson and harm to property, in reference to the primary hearth.

They charged a 38-year-old Clarington resident, and the identical 40-year-old with arson and disregarding human life in reference to the second hearth.

On the time, Burlington Hearth Chief Dan Vanderlelie advised CBC Hamilton at the least 25 firefighters labored to evacuate households on the road and put the fires out.
