We’re heartbroken to announce the passing of our dad Elmer Russel Bridge on Dec. 25h 2024, in his 86th 12 months.
He was born and grew up in Lions Head, Ontario, and later moved to Burlington the place he lived for 64 years.
Elmer is one in every of 9 kids born to Herb and Belle Bridge. He was married to Carmen and is the much-loved and devoted father to Brad (deceased), Sheri and David, and father-in-law to Mark and Debra (deceased). He’s the very best grampa to his 5 grandchildren, Kevin, Deanna, Sean, Amanda and Joshua. He might be deeply missed by his siblings Jean, Cecil, Shirley, Wilma, Noreen and he’s predeceased by his different siblings Stan, Marion and Morgan. Elmer was a particular uncle and nice uncle to many nieces and nephews.
As a long-time proud Stelco worker, working as a Mechanical Foreman at #2 Rod Mill, he was a revered and admired co-worker and buddy.
Elmer cherished life and cherished the reminiscences of rising up on the Bruce Peninsula. He was passionate in sharing it’s magnificence and significance with everybody and was happiest when main hikes and excursions and instructing his household and buddies concerning the locations that formed a lot of who he was.
He had a exceptional means to construct lasting friendships, whether or not via time spent with great neighbours, journeys with fellow hockey mother and father, snowboarding adventures in Ellicottville, his unforgettable Cuban getaways, or cherished moments along with his western household. Elmer touched the lives of so many, abandoning a legacy of affection and friendship. His heat, kindness, and real nature will stay with us ceaselessly.
A Celebration of Life Gathering and Reception might be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 between the hours of 1:00pm & 4:00pm on the McKersie & Early Funeral Residence within the Higher Lounge and Visitation Suite, 114 Primary Road East, Milton, ON
