An 18-year-old man has lost his life due to stab wounds following a confrontation at an apartment building in Brampton on Thursday night, according to Peel police.

Officers responded around 10 p. m. after receiving reports of a disturbance in the lobby of a residential building located near Mc Murchy Avenue and Pagebrook Court, Const. Tyler Bell-Morena informed reporters Friday morning.

He mentioned that the altercation led to the young man being stabbed multiple times. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported as part of this incident.

Bell-Morena described the lobby as a “busy and convoluted scene,” which made it challenging for investigators to figure out how many suspects were involved and how they escaped.

The police are currently reviewing video footage and interviewing witnesses present at the scene to identify those involved, he stated.

He encourages anyone with information or evidence to contact the police or reach out to Crime Stoppers.

A police presence will remain in the building for now to “maintain” the scene,” he added.
