Ontario Provincial Police investigators are trying to find quite a lot of suspects after an armed theft that occurred after a person was rear-ended on a freeway in Brampton Tuesday night.
The incident came about round 8 p.m., police stated in a information launch, within the northbound lanes of Freeway 410. The sufferer — a 20-year-old man from the Brampton space — was simply north of Bovaird Drive when his automobile was struck from behind by one other driver, police say.
“The driving force did what he is speculated to do and he pulled over onto the fitting shoulder,” Sgt. Ted Dongelmans informed Ontario Chronicle in an interview.
“As soon as he was stopped on the shoulder, he was confronted by two or three assailants who brandished weapons and proceeded to rob him of a few of his private gadgets.”
Dongelmans stated the suspects had their faces coated, and one was armed with a gun and one other a knife.
The suspects then received again into their automobile and took off, police say. The sufferer sustained minor accidents.
Whereas carjackings have been on the rise in southern Ontario lately, a freeway theft is much less frequent, Dongelmans stated.
“This isn’t a typical incident. It is not one thing that we hear about day-after-day,” he stated, including that police cannot but say if it was focused or random.
Anybody with info or dashcam footage from the realm on the time is being requested to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
