The Ontario government is excited about a $141 million investment from Coca-Cola Canada Bottling Ltd. to enhance and modernize its main manufacturing, distribution, and sales center in Brampton.

This expansion will add a cutting-edge production line that can produce at least 20 million more cases each year. The project is anticipated to generate up to 500 construction jobs and further boost Ontario’s beverage manufacturing and agri-food supply chains.

Premier Doug Ford stated that this investment reflects strong confidence in Ontario’s workforce and manufacturing industry. The expansion will be constructed solely by Canadian tradespeople, with at least 75 percent of the materials sourced locally.

Coca-Cola Canada Bottling claims the upgraded facility will feature one of the most advanced production lines in the nation. This modernization aims to increase production capacity, enhance packaging flexibility, and enable quicker market introductions for new product innovations.

The Brampton facility currently employs over 1,300 individuals and serves more than 7,000 local customers from Kitchener to Oshawa. Products made there are distributed across Ontario and eastern Canada.

Since becoming an independent family-owned business in 2018, Coke Canada Bottling has poured over $230 million into its operations in Brampton. Last year, the company also invested $8 million into its distribution center in Hamilton.

The province reports that Ontario is home to more than 800,000 workers in manufacturing and 867,000 in agri-food sectors, contributing over $145 billion annually to the province’s GDP.
