The Metropolis of Brampton will start the Downtown Brampton Streetscape development alongside Predominant Avenue (between Nelson Avenue and Wellington Avenue) and Queen Avenue (between Mill Avenue and Chapel Avenue) in September 2024.
GSP Group’s design removes on-street parking and devotes extra space to pedestrians and cyclists. It encompasses a widened pedestrian clearway and cafe zone, an space for bushes and furnishings, and a raised biking lane.
Growing development prices added about $6.5 million to the anticipated value and work is predicted to final till December 2027.
Work consists of widening of present sidewalks with new granite pavers, narrowing roadways to at least one lane in every course and resurfacing the pavement, establishing semi-mountable granite curbs with 1.5m vast bicycle lane, putting in new moveable planter, putting in new road furnishings (i.e., benches) and changing six site visitors alerts with new parts.
The undertaking is a key aspect in the-approved plan to revitalize the downtown core, geared toward enhancing public areas, supporting enterprise progress and enhancing the standard of life for residents.
It should give attention to:
enhancing the city setting
creating lively linkages
enhancing pedestrian experiences
