Snow and Winds Expected in Southern Ontario on January 21

On Wednesday, the Greater Toronto Area could see up to 10 cm of snow, while some parts of southern Ontario may receive as much as 20 cm.

According to Environment Canada, the snowfall will start in the morning, bringing 5 cm to 10 cm of snow to Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, and Niagara Falls.

The Bruce Peninsula and areas east of Georgian Bay might experience up to 20 cm of snow accumulation, as reported by the weather agency.

The temperature high will be around -1 C in Mississauga but could feel more like -17 C in the morning and -8 C later in the day.

Wind gusts could reach up to 60 km/h across the GTA.

In the evening on Wednesday, there’s a 60 per cent chance of rain showers for the GTA with an expected accumulation of between 2 cm and 4 cm in Oshawa and Hamilton. In Toronto, southwest winds may gust up to 70 km/h during the evening.

The overnight low is expected to be -7 C in Mississauga but may feel closer to -16 C overnight.

Looking ahead to Thursday’s forecast, expect a mix of sun and clouds along with a 30 per cent chance of flurries in Mississauga. It’ll be windy with a high around -4 C.
