The 19-year-old who was shot in Brampton, Ont., referred to the man who came to help him as his “guardian angel,” recalled the Good Samaritan.

This Good Samaritan, a local resident who wished to remain anonymous, shared with that he rushed outside after a vehicle collided into his driveway.

Peel Regional Police reported that the teenager was discovered with gunshot injuries inside a car on a residential road close to Sandalwood Parkway East and Bramalea Road around 10:30 p. m. on Wednesday.

The neighbour mentioned he first thought the driver might be drunk but realized when he spoke with the teen that he had been shot in both legs.

“He started vomiting a little bit here and there, but you know, he kept calling me his guardian angel, that I was helping him.”

The neighbour said it was “the right thing to do.”

“I obviously don’t want anyone to die,” he said while mentioning that he had just completed his first aid CPR training at work earlier that same day.

He admitted feeling somewhat rattled since this took place in his own neighborhood with family close by and noticed bullet holes in the blue SUV where the victim was found.

Const. Taylor Halfyard stated they were called out for an incident involving a motor vehicle collision that occurred at a driveway where they discovered the victim.

“Peel Regional Police would like to thank the Good Samaritan who was able to provide life-saving measures to help the victim survive this incident,” Halfyard remarked.

Halfyard noted that the shooting did not take place on the street where the collision happened.

“Investigators are still trying to determine exactly where the shooting occurred,” he added.
