Authorities in southern Ontario report that the driver of an SUV involved in a collision that resulted in the deaths of five young siblings has passed away in the hospital due to his injuries.
The man from Brampton was alone in the SUV when it collided last week with a passenger van carrying 10 individuals, including a family from Elmira, Ont.
In a news release issued today, Ontario Provincial Police confirmed that the 42-year-old succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
Sadly, four girls and one boy, ages four to twelve, lost their lives in the crash on June 12.
Investigators indicated that an infant, along with the children’s parents and two older adults, sustained injuries ranging from minor to serious.
A funeral service for the children is set for Saturday afternoon.
