Ontario Provincial Police report they have taken into custody an eighth individual related to a home invasion that happened last year, east of Huntsville, Ont.
The police stated they received alerts about an armed home invasion in the Hillside area on July 1, 2025, shortly before 5 a. m.
At that time, the OPP indicated that their investigation spread beyond the initial site, leading to the closure of Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River Road and Coopers Falls Road, as well as between Canning Road and Graham Road. The highway was reopened later.
Six individuals were arrested and charged soon after the incident. A seventh person faced arrest and charges in December.
As per police reports, the eighth suspect is 32-year-old Median Jackson from Brampton. He was taken into custody on Tuesday.
Authorities mentioned that he has been charged with: three counts of robbery involving a firearm, restricted or prohibited; kidnapping while using a firearm – confine; two counts of forcible confinement; assault with a weapon; pointing a firearm; using a firearm while committing an offence; possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; theft of a motor vehicle; and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
The accused remains behind bars while awaiting his bail hearing.
Investigators believe there may be other suspects still at large who could be armed and dangerous.
The OPP urges the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement.
