Peel Regional Police have arrested six folks after an investigation into the theft of huge portions of butter and ghee from grocery shops all through the Brampton space.
The investigation, dubbed Mission Flaherty, started in December 2024 when authorities turned conscious of over $60,000 value of merchandise being stolen.
“This is an increase of nearly 135 per cent compared to 2023 and there were over 180 similar incidents reported to Peel Regional Police,” a launch says.
Three people have been charged with possession of property obtained by crime. They’re:
• Vishavjeet Singh, 22, of no fastened tackle
• Sukmander Singh, 23, of Brampton
• Dalwal Sidhu, 28, of Brampton
Three others have been charged with theft below $5,000. They’re:
• Navdeep Chaudhary, 22, of Brampton
• Kamaldeep Singh, 38, of no fastened tackle
• Harkerat Singh, 25, of no fastened tackle
Police say the investigation continues and contains companies which can have been shopping for the stolen merchandise.
