Police say $400,000 price of fentanyl was seized after a site visitors cease in northwestern Ontario, main to 2 Brampton males being charged.

Ontario Provincial Police mentioned in a information launch that, because of an investigation, officers performed a site visitors cease in Kenora on Monday.

The cease “led to the seizure of a large quantity of fentanyl with a street value of approximately $400,000,” police mentioned.

“The fentanyl seized is believed to have been destined for Kenora and the surrounding communities,” police added.

OPP Insp. Jeffrey P. Duggan mentioned the seizure “significantly disrupts” the availability of medicine in Kenora and surrounding areas.

Brampton residents Jashanpreet Singh, 20, and Karanpreet Singh, 23, had been charged with possession for the aim of trafficking fentanyl and possession of property obtained by crime beneath $5,000.

Whereas not particularly linking it to this case, the OPP launch mentioned short-term housing leases can be utilized for drug trafficking and requested that any landlords who suspect drug trafficking is occurring at their property to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
