It’s with unhappiness that we announce the passing of our beloved Brian Aubrey Tarr, 88 years, of Barrie, Ontario, on February 4th, 2025.
Brian’s early years have been in Peterborough, ON together with his brother Terry and fogeys Helen and Francis ‘Scotty’ Tarr. The household moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario the place his mom earned a BA at Niagara School, New York and his father labored as an engineer at Acres in Niagara Falls. Brian and his youthful brother Terry graduated from Stamford Collegate and shared pursuits, particularly flying.
Brian and Terry earned their wings on the Niagara Flying membership. There, Brian met Marion ‘Betty’ Willms, and so they deliberate and achieved their respective careers of land surveyor and nurse earlier than marrying in 1965. They took a steamship to Germany from New York for his or her honeymoon, and studied German whereas dwelling there for six months with a global group of scholars. Brian and Marion used German right here and there with one another their complete lives. It was a harkening again to their particular time collectively as newlyweds.
After they returned, they discovered a house in Chippewa and shortly after, Heidi was born. A couple of years later, Brian discovered work as a land surveyor with Ontario Hydro in Barrie, and the household moved to Davies Crescent in time for Tammy’s start. Brian labored for Ontario Hydro and loved {golfing} together with his colleagues till he retired.
Brian had many pursuits through the years. He took up scuba diving and went on dozens of dives, a few of them together with his brother. He was an early adopter of computer systems, and beloved to spend time exploring the world utilizing the web. He joined the pc Membership in Barrie which he talked about fondly. He loved taking French lessons and stored going again for the humour of his class cohort, who nick-named him ‘Tiger,’ a counterpoint to his mild character. He used to go working and swam with the Barrie Trojans Swim Membership at YMCA and later at Allendale Recreation Centre. He at all times had an ideal urge for food, and Fancy’s Fish and Chips was an everyday hang-out.
Brian was simply so good-natured. He was identified for his affable and simple method with individuals. He beloved a great pun and those that knew him appreciated his sincerely pleasant method. He will likely be remembered for his love of science, curiosity about expertise, for his mild chortle, his loyalty and love for his sweetheart Marion, and his gratitude for his household and for all these serving to him as his well being declined.
Brian is survived by his partner Marion, daughters Heidi (Garret) and Tammy, grandchildren Fionnuala and Feidhlim, and brother Terry.
A non-public ceremony was held for the household in Wasaga Seaside at Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Dwelling on February 6, 2025.
