Emergency crews battled heavy smoke and flames after a hearth broke out in a storage at a Barrie residence Thursday afternoon.
Assistant Deputy Chief Eric McFadden says a bypasser seen smoke coming from the residence on Lillian Crescent within the metropolis’s west finish and known as 911 whereas banging on the door to alert the occupants.
Everybody was out of the house when crews arrived.
The thick smoke migrated into the home, inflicting injury.
No accidents had been reported.
McFadden believes a minimum of 5 folks can be displaced for the evening due to the damages.
Crews will return on Friday to probe the reason for the hearth.
Injury is estimated at $100,000.
