It’s no secret that many Ontarians are annoyed with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Nonetheless, it’s time we direct a few of that outrage towards Premier Doug Ford, whose reckless spending habits are equally deserving of scrutiny.

Whereas our training system struggles and college students face bigger class sizes, fewer assets and crumbling faculty infrastructure, Premier Ford has chosen to prioritize bringing alcohol to your native Circle Ok retailer. Is that this actually the most effective use of our hard-earned tax {dollars}?

After six years in energy, Doug Ford and the Conservatives have made it abundantly clear they don’t seem to be in it for the true folks of Ontario. As an alternative of addressing the urgent wants of households, staff, and college students, Ford’s authorities has persistently funnelled public cash into initiatives that profit his buddies and insiders, leaving on a regular basis Ontarians to bear the brunt of those misguided priorities.

Doug Ford’s concentrate on increasing alcohol availability is one more instance of his authorities’s lack of imaginative and prescient for Ontario’s future. Whereas the premier brags about this so-called “win,” faculties stay underfunded, hospitals are stretched to their limits, and households are struggling to maintain up with rising prices. These are the problems that matter to Ontarians, not whether or not they can choose up a six-pack at their native comfort retailer.

We deserve higher. Ontarians deserve leaders who will spend money on the providers we depend on — training, well being care and infrastructure — not ones who prioritize their rich buddies and donors.

It’s time to carry Premier Ford accountable for his selections and demand a authorities that works for the folks, not in opposition to them.
