The destiny of a Barrie man charged with the loss of life of a younger mom 30 years in the past now rests within the palms of a jury.


Bruce Ellis, now 61, stands charged with second-degree homicide within the stabbing loss of life of Katherine Janeiro on Oct. 10, 1994.


Janeiro’s lifeless physique was discovered face down in her Dunlop Road condominium bed room ground.


The Crown argued Ellis took Janeiro’s life after their relationship ended badly, telling the jury he was offended with the 20-year-old woman for telling his spouse she was pregnant along with his baby.


The prosecution additionally claimed Ellis grew to become irate after Janeiro unfold rumours he had contracted AIDS from an unique dancer.


The defence advised the jury there was no motive or proof Ellis had something to do with Janeiro’s loss of life, pointing the finger at a since-deceased biker the younger woman offered medicine for.


Ellis’ lawyer mentioned it will have been unimaginable for her consumer to have dedicated the crime, saying the Crown’s timeline did not add up.


The jury should now determine if Ellis is responsible of homicide within the second degree or not responsible.
