An 88-year-old driver from Pefferlaw has died after a two-vehicle collision on Freeway 48 in Georgina on Friday.
Police closed Freeway 48 and Previous Homestead Street in each instructions as a result of lethal crash within the intersection.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt stated a 36-year-old woman from Shelburne was driving the second car, and brought to the hospital with minor accidents.
Schmidt stated the Pefferlaw man’s car entered the intersection when it was struck by the lady’s car.
He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
Police closed Freeway 48 between Ridgeview Street in Georgina and Ellisview Street in Baldwin for a number of hours.
It has since reopened.
