Simcoe Muskoka noticed its first indicators of snow of the season Sunday morning, with a mixture of flurries and rain resulting in worsening street circumstances and police reporting a number of collisions.
Based on Huronia West OPP, officers responded to 6 weather-related collisions between 8:30 and 9:40 a.m. within the Township of Springwater. Areas of the collisions included Freeway 400, County Highway 92, Bayfield Road and Crossland Highway.
As of Sunday afternoon, Setting Canada has not issued any climate advisories for the area. Nonetheless, the nationwide climate company is forecasting for flurries or rain showers to proceed in Barrie till mid-afternoon, with temperatures reaching highs of three levels throughout the day and lows of minus-four in a single day.
Police are urging drivers to train warning amid fast adjustments to climate and street circumstances.
