The Halton Regional Police Service has been actively addressing a number of serious incidents, such as an armed home invasion, a pedestrian accident, a drug trafficking operation, and a gun discharge. These events have resulted in several arrests, the seizure of weapons, and ongoing investigations that showcase the community’s involvement in supporting prompt police actions across Oakville and Milton.

MASKED INTRUDERS BREAK INTO OAKVILLE HOME AND TAKE BMW

The Halton Regional Police are looking into a violent home invasion that took place in Oakville. Three male intruders, all wearing masks, broke into a house on Spruce Street by smashing a glass door at the back of the property with a rock.

Once they were inside, the armed intruders threatened the people in the home with a firearm and demanded the keys to their BMW sedan. After getting the keys, they drove away in the stolen vehicle. Thankfully, no injuries were reported during this event.

The suspects are described as three males dressed in dark clothing and wearing disguises. The HRPS is asking anyone who may have information or video footage-including dash cam or doorbell camera footage-from around the Trafalgar Road and Cornwall Road intersection between 1:00 a. m. and 2:00 a. m. on August 27 to reach out to help with their investigation.

TWO ARRESTED IN OAKVILLE GUN INVESTIGATION

The Halton Regional Police arrested two individuals after conducting an investigation related to firearms in Oakville. This inquiry started when HRPS officers responded to reports of guns spotted inside a residence on Belvedere Drive.

Upon arrival, officers quickly arrested one female suspect at the location. As they continued their investigation, they executed a criminal code search warrant which led to another male suspect being found inside the house.

During this search, officers discovered two rifles along with an electric stun gun. They also seized five paintball guns that had been modified to look like automatic rifles, handguns, and shotguns.

The suspects have been identified as Traci Simioni, 42 years old from Oakville, and Hernan Cuello Mazzillo, 49 years old with no fixed address. Both face joint charges including two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm as well as unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Simioni and Cuello Mazzillo were released on conditions and are scheduled for court appearances in Milton at later dates.

The HRPS encourages anyone with more details about this case to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau.

POLICE FILE CHARGES IN SIGNIFICANT DRUG TRAFFICKING OPERATION

The Halton Regional Police made significant progress in an extensive drug trafficking investigation by seizing multiple firearms while laying nearly 30 charges against two individuals. This investigation was carried out by the HRPS Drug and Organized Crime Unit starting in summer 2024 targeting someone suspected of distributing illegal drugs throughout Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), including Halton Region.

The operation culminated with arrests made for Michael Akuffo, age 31 from Mississauga; and Tre Wynter also aged 31 from Brampton. Both men have faced charges linked to this operation. After their arrest, HRPS officers executed search warrants on both vehicles and residences associated with them located within Mississauga resulting in finding items such as loaded Glock 9mm prohibited compact handguns; loaded Bersa 9mm handguns containing hollow-point rounds; one kilogram of cocaine; one ounce of crystal methamphetamine; along with112 oxycodone pills; plus various drug trafficking tools like scales packaging materials together bundled cash too!

Michael Akuffo faces numerous serious charges including two counts each for possession involving loaded firearms as well also owning them while using motor vehicles aware they’re unauthorized along side dangerous purposes leading him liable under law too where others could suffer harm upon careless storage allowed providing advantage over devices deemed prohibited involving controlled substances mainly cocaine trafficked alongside four counts governing related substances intended for distribution primarily comprised oxycodone meth!

Tre Wynter similarly faces similar ramifications across same aspects dealt regarding his wrongdoings here despite not being alone since included multi-counts concerning unlawful ownership equipment specially dangerous meant concealment rather aiding efforts serve involve those whom might require aid less fortunate relying upon society well organized must ensure safety prior become habitual offenders hence need watchful approach needed regular intervals providing accountability amongst citizens alike!
