Wilma Christine (Murray) Cameron of Hazel Glen, Pictou County, handed peacefully away on July 22, 2024 within the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow after a brief sickness.
Wilma was born within the previous Aberdeen Hospital to the late William I. and Jennie (Gordon) Murray on August 14, 1935. The third of 4 women, she was raised on the Murray household farm in Gairloch. She graduated from Westville Excessive College (1953) and Nova Scotia Regular School (1954) the place she developed a lifelong love of studying and educating. She began her educating profession in East St. Marys and later taught in Landsdowne, Rocklin, and Mill Brook. Wilma met and married her fabulous dance accomplice, Jim Cameron, on July 6, 1963. Wilma is survived by her daughter, Ruth (David Oxford); sons Peter (Corinne), Invoice (Daphne), David (Anita) and Earle (Christina); grandchildren Kaitlin (Richard and son Ethan), Skylar, Bailey, Shelby, Tyson, David (Dallys), Tim, Josh, James, and Renee. She can be survived by sister-in-law Evelyn Millen and quite a few treasured cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John James (Jimmie)Cameron in 2005, sisters Madeline (John Alex) MacQuarrie, Annie (Bobby) Pattern, and Florence (Percy) Oliver in addition to Jim’s siblings Sam, Dorothy (Murray) Jardine, Willard (Annie), Ernie, Donald (Marie).
