In loving memory of Anna Maria Marchesin (nee Rosin) from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Our wonderful mother and nonna was called home on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 86.
Anna was born in Bannia, Pordenone, Italy on March 26, 1939. She moved to Canada as a teenager with her family. There she met and married Avio. Together they created a beautiful life and raised four children whom she loved dearly. She cared deeply for her family and often prayed for all of us and many others. Her grandchildren filled her heart with new joy, especially during their early years together. Her faith played a significant role in her life.
Anna loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, cooking, going to mass, and enjoying the outdoors. She was honest, faithful, loving and welcomed everyone with a bright smile and an open heart. Anna put in hard work and wasted very little. She found happiness in taking care of her flowers and gardens while also preserving and cooking what she harvested. Family always returned home to meals prepared with love. Her flower beds were colorful and uplifting; the sights, sounds and scents of her garden were treasures to her. Both her home and parish were places where she felt truly happy. A long-time member of the CWL, she was also dedicated to Holy Family Parish where she sang in the choir happily volunteering her time.
She is survived by her daughters Lisa (Salvatore) and Rita; grandchildren Sophia, Paige, and Gabriella; siblings Luciano and Pia; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Avio; sons Roberto and Oscar; parents Clelia and Romano; as well as brothers Tony and Ugo. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 11 a. m., when friends and family will gather for the Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church celebrated by Father Doug Mc Clure.
