Mr. Robert Charles Gunn passed away on Sunday, Feb. 15 after battling health issues for a while, just 9 days shy of his 71st birthday. Rob was born in 1955 into a family that loved music. His mother, Mildred, was a well-known local piano teacher and organist at Wesley United Church, while his father Edison taught music in schools, directed the choir at Wesley, and played in the Symphony Orchestra.
Rob had a passion for music and enjoyed playing guitar, drums, recorder and percussion.
He was part of several bands including Counterpoint, Randy Lyght’s band, and later performed with Tommy Horricks at talent shows held at Westfort. He also had a lifelong affection for animals of all kinds. He is survived by his sister-in-law Pat, nephews Richard and Mark, niece Tricia and close friend David Strom.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Wayne. Cremation has taken place as per Rob’s wishes; there will be no service.

The arrangements have been handled by Simpler Times Cremation Centre located at 575 Central Avenue in Thunder Bay.
