Anne Maarit Weber was born on March 24th, 1968, to Matti Kalervo Syrja and Sirkka Annikki (Pieniniemi) Syrja in Canada. Her parents moved from Finland when her sister, Mervi, was just a child, making Anne a first-generation Canadian Finn. She married John Aaron Weber in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on December 22nd, 1990: a beautiful union of 35 years, 8 months, and 24 days.
She is now running, jumping, and dancing on the streets of gold after a long struggle lasting about 15 years with degenerative disc disease and its accompanying pain. On Monday, September 15, 2025, she simply wanted to sleep. She fell asleep and did not awaken here. Instead, she found herself in the arms of Jesus without any pain.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matti Syrja and Sirkka (Pieniniemi) Syrja (Canada).
She is survived by John Aaron Weber (husband) and Mary Odessa Schultz Syrja (stepmother), along with family members across the globe.
About Anne:
Church Family Life:
Anne’s greatest passion was ensuring that people were introduced to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She believed that the most crucial question in life was:
“Does God know my name?” So right now she would be asking you: “Does God know your name?” Nothing else mattered to her. Jesus Christ loves you; He died on the cross and rose again so that you could have eternal life instead of facing an eternity filled with sorrow and pain. It is through His shed blood that He gave His life for you so that you would not face eternal damnation.
She dedicated herself wholeheartedly to church family life wherever she went. As a Pastor’s helper, Anne loved making people smile with her boundless enthusiasm and genuine care for others-often at the expense of her own well-being. Her involvement in church life created a broad impact. Whether it was helping pastors or staff members or engaging visitors through theater productions or leading kids’ choirs, Bible studies, prayer groups-her infectious energy touched many lives.
Community Theatre:
This active participation positioned her well for roles in community theatre as well. Anne took part in numerous aspects including casting decisions, costuming choices, acting performances as well as producing work behind the scenes like writing scripts or designing sets while also managing technical direction along with promotional materials like brochures and t-shirts.
Digital Graphic Artist:
An accomplished freelance digital graphic artist, Anne was highly sought after for creating anything related to digital arts such as custom-designed t-shirts or merchandise along with programs for events plus video presentations-she had quite the talent!
Special Gratitude:
She expressed deep gratitude toward Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, MN for their support during her health challenges which truly gave her hope over recent years.
A memorial service will be announced later.
