With a heavy heart, we share the peaceful passing of our dear mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Claire Travisee (née Pelletier) on January 12, 2026.

Claire was born on August 20, 1932, in Outremont, Quebec to her late parents Georges and Mabel Pelletier.

In 1956, Claire married her soulmate William “Bill” Travisee in Montreal. Together they built a wonderful life and raised three daughters in a home filled with love and laughter.

As they grew older, Claire and Bill welcomed new adventures. They enjoyed numerous cruises together and took countless road trips to visit family while exploring delightful small towns across Ontario and Vancouver Island.

After retiring, Claire got to enjoy baseball more when Bill took a part-time job in the ticket office for the Toronto Blue Jays. Family lovingly called him “Blue Jay Bill.” They spent many happy hours cheering for the Jays at Sky Dome or from their living room couch. Their passion for the team mirrored their commitment to each other as they shared joyful moments together.

With her calm presence and gentle smile, Claire made friends easily wherever she went. She moved gracefully through life with quiet confidence and always expressed gratitude.

Family meant everything to Claire. She cherished time spent with loved ones. She found happiness tending to her lovely gardens or relaxing on her patio with a Gin and Tonic or a cold beer on warm days. Listening to music or working on cryptograms also brought her joy as she appreciated the peace surrounding her.

Claire is fondly remembered by her daughter Susan; her sister Evelyn; son-in-law Ken Hoogsteen; adored grandchildren Ryan, Kristin, Nicole, Melissa and Kyle; along with great-grandchildren Carson and William. She was predeceased by husband Bill Travisee; daughters Louise Hoogsteen and Diane Travisee; along with son-in-law Marvin Brennan.

This summer at Elmwood Cemetery in Markham, Ontario Claire will rest alongside her husband Bill.
Her grace, warmth, and love for family will never be forgotten.
