Ontario boasts a wide array of fall fairs and festivals that everyone should check out this season, with fun activities happening in nearly every part of the GTA.

We’ve put together a list of the top seasonal events in the area so you can make the most of autumn 2025, no matter where you are in Southern Ontario:

Key Seasonal Celebrations

While there are tons of events each fall, some fairs have become classics in Ontario – the ones people talk about and look forward to for months.

Here’s a roundup of the most popular fall fairs making a comeback for 2025:

Community and Agricultural Fairs

The months of September and October are all about local fairs held on expansive outdoor spaces, featuring midways, petting zoos, derbies, educational exhibits, and more.

They carry a charming country feel that many people enjoy, centered around agricultural traditions and rural life. A lot of these events have been celebrated for over a century!

Here are some to explore across Ontario if you’re looking to relive those classic memories:

Apple Festivals

This one definitely deserves its own section! With fall being prime time for apple picking – they’re at their tastiest during this season – many small (and large) towns throw apple festivals to kick off this beloved activity.

If you love apples, here are some festivals just for you:

Brighton Applefest celebrates everything apple-related and attracts big crowds every year. This year’s event runs from September 25 – 28 at Memorial Park in downtown Brighton. Photo from Brighton Applefest Facebook.

Pumpkin Festivals<p And naturally, no autumn plan would be complete without visiting pumpkin patches. During this season, it's common for folks to decorate their homes with pumpkins – whether they're part of an autumn display or carved up for Halloween.

If you’re keen on finding that perfect pumpkin patch – ideal not only for picking but also capturing stunning fall photos – add these festivals to your schedule:

As the seasons change, expect cooler weather, colorful trees, and air filled with cider aromas and fallen leaves- all elements that contribute to making Ontario’s fall fairs and festivals feel truly enchanting.
