This area is currently represented by Liberal MP Mary Ng, who started her term in 2017. In the 2021 federal election, Ng secured 23,709 votes, capturing 61.54 percent of the total vote. However, Ng will not be seeking re-election for the upcoming 2025 Canadian election.
The voters will choose their representative for Markham-Thornhill in Ontario on April 28, 2025.
