One of the most common misconceptions about being an entrepreneur and makeup artist is that it’s just about applying makeup – a creative and enjoyable job. In reality, it’s a highly skilled and very professional field. As a makeup artist and aesthetician, I’ve come to understand that real artistry goes much deeper than what meets the eye. It requires knowledge of emotional wellness, skin health, color theory, and lighting. It’s also essential to know how makeup behaves in various settings – whether for live events or photography and film – and how each look can tell a story or evoke feelings. Every design plays a role in a bigger narrative, and my aim is always to bring that vision to life in a way that feels personal, intentional, and empowering. Another aspect that often gets overlooked is the business side and client relations. Running Liebe Beauty has taught me that success relies heavily on communication, professionalism, and organization as much as it does on artistic talent. It’s all about providing clients with a calm and confident experience during some of their most important moments – making sure they not only look great but also feel supported throughout the process. Our grandmother whom we fondly called Oma was my greatest teacher when it comes to work ethic & life lessons. Oma lived through the terrible concentration camps during World War II alongside her mother. She grew up in Molidorf (Molin), which is situated in Yugoslavia before moving to Canada in 1949-with her unbreakable spirit carrying forward despite facing unimaginable challenges head-on without giving up.
My Oma showed me resilience like no other – there was never any thought of “giving up,” only survival instincts kicking in coupled with strong willpower towards rebuilding life anew after suffering immense hardships. Listening closely to her stories instilled more than mere resilience within me; they imparted values around hard work discipline integrity too! Through witnessing firsthand everything she endured meant success isn’t merely reliant upon shortcuts nor luck-it’s grounded firmly upon consistent effort put forth day after day even amidst obstacles faced along our paths! Every project undertaken today big or small reflects her legacy deeply embedded inside myself daily guiding leadership style while shaping approach toward artistry crafted by hands connected emotionally through experiences shared together across generations past until present moment felt forever influenced by my beloved Oma remains within me always!
