Burlington, Ontario-Hey artists and book enthusiasts of all ages! The Burlington Public Library’s annual Bookmark Contest is now live! Each year, we invite the community to grab their crayons and markers to design a bookmark that reflects a literary theme.
This year, your task is to craft a design inspired by one of your favorite books.
How It Works
To enter, you need to live, work, or study in Burlington. You can get a paper submission form at any Burlington Public Library branch or download one from BPL’s contest webpage. Feel free to create your original artwork using markers, crayons, pencils, pastels, or paint. Just make sure your design fits within the bookmark outline.
You can submit your bookmark at your local branch or upload it on the library’s website by February 23, 2026. Finalists will be picked in five age categories and their designs will be showcased online for public voting from March 4 to March 11.

These are winning entries from the 2023 challenge.
What do the winners receive? The joy of promoting reading! The five winning bookmarks will be professionally printed and available at all BPL branches for everyone to enjoy during their next great read.
