This Family Day weekend, you won’t want to miss out on the fun happening right here in Mississauga.

From Friday, February 13 to Monday, February 16, get set for a thrilling weekend packed with sports that keep you active, arts that unleash your creativity, and activities perfect for everyone. Whether you’re enjoying the festivities at Celebration Square in downtown or participating in various events throughout the neighborhoods, there’s no lack of opportunities to stay engaged and have a great time during the Family Day long weekend.

Head to downtown Mississauga for Family Day

Downtown Mississauga is an ideal place to groove at a free DJ-powered skating party on Celebration Square, warm up on heated patios, and indulge in delicious snacks from food trucks all weekend long (February 14 to 16).

Don’t miss select live screenings of the 2026 Winter and Paralympic Games-what could be more Canadian than gathering with family and friends to cheer on our athletes as they aim for gold? Share the excitement and experience these amazing moments together right in the heart of the city.

While you’re there, take some time to check out modern living by touring a tiny home making its debut at Celebration Square on Family Day, February 16. Staff from Habitat for Humanity will be available to answer any questions about how they are constructed and whether one might suit your property.

You can find even more fun just across the street at the Living Arts Centre. Drop-in creative activities await you including dance workshops, screen printing sessions, and digital art experiences from noon until 4 p. m.

Catch Jungle Book live at Living Arts Centre this Family Day

If you’re looking for an exciting adventure this Family Day, come see a live performance of Jungle Book. This show brings Mowgli’s story alive with stunning visuals, engaging shadow play, and original music that fills the stage with color and energy.

Enjoy free city-wide fun this Family Day weekend

<p Your favorite community center is ready for you! On February 14, 15 and 16 enjoy complimentary drop-in swimming, skating, dancing classes, art projects, sports activities and fitness sessions. You might even want to polish your hockey skills during stick-and-puck time. Activities are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

If you’re aiming to ignite creativity and imagination? Swing by your local Mississauga Library on February 14 for additional free family fun including storytime sessions, building big with LEGO blocks, board games plus hands-on activities suitable for all ages.

Get outside for some Family Day fun

Spend Saturday (February 14) visiting Bradley Museum where historic grounds transform into a winter wonderland. Enjoy complimentary snowshoeing activities along with snow games (weather permitting), simple crafts as well as other enjoyable outdoor adventures. Between activities warm up with hot chocolate while taking in the picturesque scenery reminiscent of storybooks.

Keep your outdoor fun going by exploring beautiful parks and trails around the city or visiting Port Credit Memorial Park’s skating trail or sliding down one of six designated hills meant for sledding.

Winter safety tips

This holiday weekend while enjoying outdoor activities make sure you avoid frozen lakes ponds rivers or creeks. Even if ice appears thick it can still break due to changing temperatures. Ice near shorelines or riverbanks tends to be especially weak and slippery so please stay safe by not walking skating or playing on any natural ice surfaces instead enjoy winter fun in designated safe areas.

Closures of offices and facilities

The City offices such as Mississauga City Hall Ontario Courthouse the 311 Citizen Contact Centre Clerks all libraries museums plus certain community centers will be closed on Monday February 16. Check out city hours of operation.
