UPDATE: Police reported shortly after 6:45 p. m. that the road is now open again.
Authorities are advising drivers to steer clear of a section of road in Pickering that’s been closed because of downed power lines.
Around 5:30 p. m. on Thursday, Durham Regional Police announced that part of Pickering Concession Road 4 was closed “due to Hydro Lines being knocked down.”
The closure affects both directions between Altona and Markham Pickering Townline until repairs can be made, police stated.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and look for alternative routes if possible.
