A domestic disturbance at a residence in rural Ontario has resulted in animal cruelty charges against a man from Brampton.

South Bruce OPP reported that they responded to a call in the community of Arran-Elderslie last night (Dec. 18) concerning allegations of intimate partner violence.

Arran-Elderslie is situated 160 km northwest of Brampton.

The OPP stated that during the altercation, the suspect picked up a small dog and hurled it across the room.

Authorities have not specified if either the victim or the puppy sustained serious injuries.
