Dinah Maughan-Ayres (Jaster)
February 24, 1930 – January 29, 2016

Dinah (Di to those close to her) passed away peacefully at Campbell House with her loving daughters by her side on Friday, January 29, 2016, just shy of her 86th birthday. She was born in Morris, Manitoba, and later lived in Winnipeg before coming to Collingwood for the birth of her only granddaughter. It was during this time that she met the wonderful Len Ayres, starting a beautiful love story that lasted a lifetime. After Len’s passing in March 2013, Di enjoyed almost three more years filled with love and laughter. She was predeceased by her dear husband Len Ayres and will be remembered fondly as the loving mother of Debra (Gord Lesslie), grandmother of Jackie Blue (Bob Zirk), and beloved great grandmother of Hayden Zirk. She was also an honored stepmother to Donald (Heather), Jim, Bob, and Lennie (deceased) Ayres; mother-in-law to Lori Mc Arthur Ayres; and grandmother to Bobby and Blake. Di is survived by her siblings Mel (Eileen) Jaster and Al (Helen) Jaster along with their families, as well as members of the Ayres family from Guelph. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Mc Lachlin, Dr. Young and the CCAC PSWs and nurses for their care; also to the compassionate community at Campbell House. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Collingwood Legion on Saturday May 14th from 1-4 p. m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Campbell House – Hospice Georgian Triangle.
“She will never be totally gone as long as she lives in our memories”.
