BRAMPTON – Authorities report that efforts are still underway to locate two individuals who remain missing following a tragic house fire in Brampton, Ont.
On Friday afternoon, Peel Regional Police announced they discovered what is believed to be the remains of an adult among the debris of the home.
They also mentioned that one of the missing persons is thought to be a child.
Sgt. Tyler Bell indicated that no further updates will be provided about those unaccounted for until the search by emergency services has concluded.
The devastating fire erupted early Thursday morning near Mc Laughlin and Remembrance roads, leading to the evacuation of several nearby homes.
According to police reports from Thursday, two adults were declared dead at the scene, while four others, including a child around four or five years old, were transported to hospital in critical condition.
By Friday, one injured adult remained in critical condition while the others were reported as stable.
A total of eleven people were said to be residing in the house, which included nine family members and two occupants living in a secondary basement unit.
