Remembering Leona Champagne of Windsor

Champagne, Leona (nee Meilleur)

Leona passed away peacefully at her home on August 14, 2017, at the age of 90. She was the loving wife of the late Gerry (2015). She is survived by her cherished children Adele and her husband Danny Guignard, Richard and his wife Nancy Champagne, Lynn and her husband Richard Benneian, Terri and her husband Gary Corriveau. She was a dear daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Meilleur. Leona was a beloved grandmother to Jessica, Justin, Richard, Ryan, Robert, and Christina. She had several siblings who have also passed away: the late Joseph and his wife Blanche Meilleur, Leo and his late wife Claudette Meilleur, Cecile who was married to the late Donald Grant, Irene with her husband Real Samson, Jean with her late husband Tony Ledoux, Laurette with her late husband Patrick Gauthier, along with Rose and Nell who both have passed on; Stella and Frank are also deceased as well as Adella. Leona retired from C. E. Jamieson. If you wish to do so, donations to the Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by her family.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 3-5 pm and again from 7-9 pm at Families First located at 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor. You can reach them at 519-969-5841.

On Thursday morning, family and friends are invited to join for Mass at Corpus Christi Church (1400 Cabana Rd. W.) starting at 11:30 am. Final prayers will take place afterward at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. You can share memories or photos or make a donation at www. Families First. ca
