Shah Alam Khokan, the Consul General of Bangladesh in Toronto, made a courtesy visit to Veronica Panton, Chief of Protocol for Ontario, at her office on Thursday, as mentioned in a press release.

During their discussion, they talked about shared interests such as the welfare of the Bangladeshi community in Ontario, opportunities for boosting trade and investment between Bangladesh and Canada, and possible visits from high-ranking officials.

According to the release, Veronica Panton highlighted that Toronto hosts the second-largest consular presence globally after New York. She also extended an invitation to the Consul General to join an event organized by Ontario authorities for Toronto’s consular corps.

Shah Alam Khokan invited Panton to take part in events arranged by the Consulate General of Bangladesh. This includes celebrations for Bangladesh’s Independence and National Day on 26 March 2026 and Pahela Baishakh on 14 April 2026.

The press release indicated that the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere.
