QEW Lanes Blocked After Crash in Ontario

Update: As of 9:52 a. m., all Toronto-bound QEW lanes are still closed at Ontario Street in St. Catharines, according to the OPP. Two individuals were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening or life-altering, police reported.

QEW lanes in St. Catharines were shut down due to an accident on Wednesday morning.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene of a multi-vehicle crash near Ontario Street, as stated by the Ontario Provincial Police on X.

Shortly before 9 a. m., the OPP announced that all lanes were blocked.

The extent of injuries and the total number of vehicles involved have not been disclosed yet.

The Ministry of Transportation confirmed that the Toronto-bound lanes are blocked.

Authorities reported heavy traffic buildup in the vicinity and advised drivers to seek alternative routes.
