BLACK (Skene), Geraldine “Geri” ~ Age 77, of Lawrencetown, Annapolis Co., N. S., passed away on the morning of Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on August 12, 1948, in East York (Township TWO), Ontario she was a daughter of the late Stewart “Bud” and Wilma (Slack) Skene. A devoted wife and loving mother, she will always remain close in our hearts and memories. Her absence creates a significant void. Geri made a difference in many lives while working with children in local schools until she retired as an E. A. Geri is survived by her caring husband of 43 years, Gerald Black; children, Erin (Bard) Golightly from Edmonton, Alberta; Ron (Cecelia) Meek from Lawrencetown; grandson Mac Laren from Lawrencetown; brothers John (Linda) Skene from Ontario and Jim (Barry) Skene from Ontario; sister Jill Skene from Ontario; siblings-in-law Twila Black from Bridgetown; Bob Black from Dartmouth. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sister Judy Irving; brother-in-law Tom Black; sisters-in-law Jane Black and Jackie Skene. Following Geri’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a memorial service. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to The Lodge That Gives at 5826 South Street, Halifax, N.
