The family of Maria Arruda is heartbroken to share the news of her passing in hospital on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Maria moved to Montreal from Sao Miguel, Portugal, in 1966 and then relocated to Thunder Bay 17 years later to marry her partner, Messias Arruda. Together they welcomed children Anne-Marie and Bryan and created a home filled with love and joy.
Funeral services for Maria will take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00 a. m. in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, located at 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, with Fr. Luigi Filippini officiating. Burial will follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday evening starting at 6:30 p. m. in the Everest Chapel, with Vigil Prayers being held at 7:00 p. m., led by Deacon Pasquale Coccimiglio.
