It’s been two weeks since the tragic shooting at Lambton College in Sarnia, Ont.
The early morning event at the school’s pub resulted in the death of 20-year-old Dane Nisbet from Sarnia and left two others injured.
Since then, three people have been arrested. However, the fourth suspect, Kyaw Eh “Chin” Doe from London, remains at large. He is also known as “Leo King,” according to Sarnia police.
This 24-year-old faces charges of second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of a prohibited firearm.
Detective Josh Mitchell thinks Doe is still somewhere in Canada – and may be receiving help to stay hidden.
“We do live in social media digital age … [and] for lack of a better term, this has gone viral in southwestern Ontario,” said Mitchell.
“In my opinion, in my experience, I believe that Mr. Doe is essentially just in hiding right now and he has associates that are hiding him and that are intentionally keeping him hidden to help him avoid arrest. There is some intelligence that he does have ties to associates that … are involved in criminal activity. That’s as best as I can put it.”

Yesterday, Sarnia police shared new images of the suspect – emphasizing tattoos on his face, neck and hand.
“If somebody’s intentionally bundling up and covering their neck and covering their face – and that we’re entering into nicer weather now – it’s very uncommon for someone to wear a neck warmer at the end of April … we just asked the public to remain vigilant … we ask them to call 911,” Mitchell said.
Sarnia police previously mentioned they believe they recovered the gun used in the shooting, which was reportedly smuggled into Canada from the United States.
Authorities say Doe visited several bars and restaurants on the night of the shooting and was confrontational at each stop before heading to the campus pub.

Sarnia police search London housing complex for suspect in Lambton College shooting
Sarnia police continue searching for the main suspect linked to a deadly shooting on Lambton College’s campus earlier this month.
This past weekend, officers canvassed an area of London believed to be where Doe lived.
“I am confident that he’s in Canada,” Mitchell added. “We’ve received numerous leads, especially over the past week … speaking to neighbours and anybody that we believe that he was associated with.”
Mitchell notes that one challenging aspect of how long it’s taken to make an arrest is not being able to bring some closure for Nisbet’s family or those affected by this tragedy within the community.
