Aug. 8 (UPI) — Ontario Premier Doug Ford made a request of the province’s residents: “Of us, do not be pooping on the seashore.”
Ford, chatting with reporters in Mississauga on Wednesday, was requested about rumors on social media that guests to Wasaga Seashore have been utilizing tents to cover the truth that they’re defecating into holes within the sand.
“Of us, do not be pooping on the seashore. It is so simple as that,” the Ontario Chronicle quoted Ford as saying.
Ford identified that the province had just lately given the City of Wasaga Seashore greater than $700,000 to construct new loos on the seashore.
“I’ve no proof that individuals are pooping within the park per se, nevertheless it’s fairly dangerous if they’re,” Ford stated.
Wasaga Seashore Mayor Brian Smith extra forcefully denied the allegations final month, saying the rumors “lack proof and promote misinformation.”
“The city has obtained no proof — from residents, guests or the Ontario authorities — to confirm that any undesirable, unsanitary habits has occurred on the seashore areas that make up Wasaga Seashore Provincial Park,” Smith stated.
