Provincial police have confirmed the identity of a second victim in a homicide case in Simcoe, Ontario.

Authorities report that the remains were discovered on October 16 in a wooded area along Highway 6, west of Caledonia in Haldimand County.

The next day, a postmortem examination by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service identified the deceased as 49-year-old Robert Sykes from Simcoe and ruled his death as a homicide.

The OPP had previously indicated that Sykes was reported missing and considered another victim following the discovery of 71-year-old Barbara Morgan’s body on October 5 at her residence on Head Street South in Simcoe.
