A resident from Brampton is one of three individuals facing charges related to a series of break-ins in eastern Ontario.

The break-ins started in July this year and went on until September, covering a wide area of eastern Ontario, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

The suspects mainly targeted convenience stores after they had closed for the night, the OPP reported. They would break in and steal cigarettes, lottery tickets, and cash, police said.

On Tuesday, the OPP announced that they have resolved 20 cases of these commercial break-and-enters.

There were three incidents in Ottawa, five in Kingston, two in Brockville, two in Cornwall, and eight across Leeds, Grenville, Russell County, Lennox and Addington, Quinte West OPP regions, police added.

Arrest warrants were issued for three suspects in late October 2025. The individuals were already detained elsewhere when the OPP made their announcement.

On Tuesday, Dec. 16, the three men were moved to eastern Ontario where they were officially arrested and charged.

Ferenc Kiss, 28 from Brampton, faces numerous charges including 18 counts of break and enter, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, possession of burglary tools, 11 counts of theft over $5,000, theft under $5,000 from a vehicle, trafficking in stolen goods over $5,000 and 19 counts of disguise with intent.

Norbert Szeles, 20 from Toronto and Karoly Csombok, 27 from Etobicoke are also facing charges.
