Lightning Mc Clean, Puck Norris, Ice to Meet You – just a few ideas as the City of Kitchener gets ready to name its very first electric Zamboni.
City staff are eager for your input and want to have the new machine all set for this winter.
This Zamboni will be dedicated to the Carl Zehr Square ice pad, with the chosen name “proudly displayed on our Zamboni with a brand-new decal.”
A representative from the City of Kitchener told 570 News Radio that although Zamboni is an American brand, this ice resurfacer was made in Canada.
“The Zamboni we purchased was manufactured in Brantford. Zamboni was selected after a public procurement process, which we are required to do as a public sector organization.”
You can submit name suggestions until Sunday, November 30.
A shortlist of popular choices will then be voted on by the community in December, with the winning name revealed in the New Year.
Each person can submit up to five names.
