Niagara police are looking into the circumstances surrounding a man’s death that occurred Tuesday morning after a tent caught fire in a park in St. Catharines.

During routine patrols near Glendale Avenue at about 3:15 a. m., officers spotted flames in a wooded section of Mountain Locks Park.

Upon closer inspection, they discovered a significant fire involving a tent. Emergency responders quickly put out the flames and found the body of a man.

The District Criminal Investigative branch is collaborating with the Ontario Fire Marshal on this case.
