Police are on the lookout for at least four suspects following a jewelry store robbery that occurred Thursday at Pickering City Centre.

Durham Police responded to a robbery report at Peoples Jewellers in the Shops at Pickering City Centre around 5:35 p. m. Thursday after four masked individuals entered the store and started breaking display cases. The suspects made off with a selection of jewelry before escaping the mall in a vehicle.

No employees were physically harmed during the incident.

If you were near the mall between 5 p. m. and 6 p. m. and have any cell phone or dashcam footage or information, please reach out to police.

Anyone with dash cam, surveillance footage, or details about this event is encouraged to contact D/Cst. Nicholson of the Auto Robbery Crime Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5369.

You can also send anonymous tips to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www. durhamregionalcrimestoppers. ca, where tipsters may qualify for a cash reward.

This store was similarly robbed back in October when four masked individuals – some as young as 14 – came into the shop and began “smashing” display cases. They stole jewelry before escaping in a waiting grey Honda CRV driven by a fifth suspect, according to police reports.
