He passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on what would have been his 64th birthday. He will be deeply missed by his wife Moira (nee Hunter), son Matthew Kenyon (Jaclyn), daughter Samantha Bennett (Jason), Emily Budac (Chris), and Gillian Sonnenberg (Andrew). Rob was a caring Pops to Nixon, Casey, and Baby Ryan, as well as Grandpa Rob to Nathan and Jojo. His siblings Ric (Deb), Kim (Norm), and brother-in-law Graeme (Victoria) will also feel the loss, along with his nephews and many friends he made throughout his life.

Anyone who knew Rob was aware of his love for airplanes and the pride he took in his jobs at Air Transat and Pratt and Whitney Canada. He could identify nearly any aircraft flying above him. He’ll be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and unique sayings. Rob enjoyed being an all-around athlete and was an enthusiastic kayaker. He loved cheering for the Blue Jays and listening to the band Rush. The family asks that if you can share a written memory or story you cherish, please bring it along to add to a memory book they’re compiling. Also, if you own a Jays jersey, you’re encouraged to wear it on Sunday!

Friends are invited to gather at the Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, Paris, ON, on Sunday March 15th, 2026, from 12:00 p. m. – 1:00 p. m. A Celebration of Life will take place in the Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, please think about making a donation to Journey Home-an organization that provided great support for Rob and me this past year.

Online condolences and donations may be made at www. budgellfuneralhome. ca
