Anna Gruhn (neé Zundl), a dear mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her home in Windsor, Ontario on August 29, 2025. Born in Barabutsch Yugoslavia in 1934, she immigrated to Canada as a child after World War II. In her new home, she created a loving life for herself and her family. Anna married Konrad Gruhn, who preceded her in death. She worked as a hairstylist and was an active member of her church community while being a kind friend to many. Right up until the end, Anna enjoyed gardening and staying connected with her family. She leaves behind her son Peter Gruhn, daughter-in-law Bobbi Adams, and grandsons David and Levi Gruhn. She is also survived by her brother Jack Zundl and sister-in-law Terry Zundl, the widow of her late brother Joseph Zundl.
Anna “Nani” will be fondly remembered by her nephew Joe and his wife Susan along with their children Joseph, Kaitlin, and Joshua; nephew Stephen and his wife Petra with their daughter Chiara Valentina; cousin Annie Keller; as well as numerous friends and family across Canada and beyond who were fortunate to know her. Her kindness, generosity, willingness to help others, and endless energy will truly be missed.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E) 519-253-7234 on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and again from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at Immaculate Heart Parish (2153 Parkwood Ave) starting with mass at 10:00a. m., followed by burial at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
