Janis Hazelwood Whiteman A. K. A. “Grandma Woof”
We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of a truly wonderful woman, Janis Whiteman. She was known for her kindness, determination, and strength. She is preceded in death by her dear daughter, Shelley. Janis leaves behind a loving community in Thunder Bay: Shelley’s best friend; extended family; caring neighbours; her First-Wesley Church family; members of the Lakehead Kennel Club; and many employees from tbaytel. Thank you all for the love and support you showed to Janis. Please join us for a farewell on Saturday, January 24 at First-Wesley Church, 130 N. Brodie Street at 11:00 a. m. Reverend Lionel Ketola will be leading the service. The ashes of Janis and Shelley will be interred at Lake of the Woods Cemetery in Kenora, ON, at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to one of Janis’s favorite charities: Thunder Bay Food Bank; Thunder Bay Humane Society; Northern Cancer Fund; or First-Wesley United Church. You can leave online condolences at www. nwfainc. com.
